Gerald Leet (1913-1998)
Painter, born in London who attended Goldsmiths' College, 1929-34, at RCA, 1934-37 and returned to Goldsmiths' College where he furthered his studies there and the Courtauld Institute, 1937-38.
After war service he was appointed as a war artist at the Viceroy's House, New Delhi, 1945-46.
A friend of Denton Welch, he held various teaching positions including posts at Ealing College of Art, Eton and Brighton College of Art.
In 1948 Leet was commissioned by the HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother to undertake portrait drawings. He showed at the RA and held solo exhibitions at Eton Art Gallery and the Isobar Gallery, Hampstead.
